Illume and the new Student Lists feature is helping our partner institutions like the University of Arizona and the University of South Florida understand the needs of specific student populations so they can intervene in real time. They’re using Student Lists to look closely at active groups of students, and then putting this data in the hands of those on the front lines to take early action. This level of detail about their students is not only changing daily outreach but guiding policy and decision-making.

About the Speakers:
Angela Baldasare, Assistant Provost for Institutional Research, University of Arizona
Having earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Arizona, Angela is a proud alumna dedicated to the success of the UA’s students and the institution. From 2010-2014, she served as the Director of Divisional Assessment & Research for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at The UA, where she led the charge in advancing the division’s data-driven approach and strategic plan. In 2014, Institutional Research joined with the Enterprise Information & Analytics unit to form University Analytics & Institutional Research (UAIR). Angela has been a key leading member of this effort, to provide institutional research and analytics support for the University in strategic planning, management decision-making, and policy analysis.
Paul Dosal, Vice Provost for Student Success, University of South Florida
Paul is responsible for coordinating the university-wide student success initiative, a strategic campaign to raise retention and graduation rates, boost student satisfaction, minimize financial indebtedness, and prepare all University of South Florida students for success in their careers or graduate and professional schools. He also directs enrollment planning and management, supervising the offices of Undergraduate, Graduate, and International Admissions, the Registrar, and Financial Aid, as well as the Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships and the Academy for Teaching and Learning Excellence.
Eric McIntosh, Research Director, Civitas Learning
With a professional background in student affairs, Eric has worked for institutions of varying types and sizes understanding the intersection of students’ academic journeys and lives. An active researcher, Eric’s research interests include access issues in higher education, spirituality in higher education, transfer student integration, student thriving, and student success. Since 2007, Eric has been involved in research on student thriving; a research initiative of the Doctoral Programs in Higher Education at Azusa Pacific University.
