AUSTIN, TEX. (June 29, 2017) – Civitas Learning announced, today, that Eric Grunden, a technology services executive with two decades of experience directing the implementation and delivery of integrated solutions, will join the company as Senior Vice President of Partner Success for its college and university partners. In this role, Grunden will lead the partner services, data engineering, delivery and support teams to advance student and institutional outcomes.

With more than twenty years of experience in the medtech and health IT services industry, Grunden brings a wealth of experience in supporting large-scale technology implementation projects and ensuring strong support and care across the user experience. Grunden, who will report directly to Civitas Learning founder and Chief Executive Officer Charles Thornburgh, will work to ensure that partners receive the highest level of ongoing support and care as they work with Civitas Learning to dramatically improve student success.

“I’ve always been inspired by the potential to create social impact through the power of technology and innovation, and I am excited to take on this new challenge with Civitas Learning,” said Grunden. “At the heart of our work is a collaborative spirit and deep commitment to serving, caring for and empowering our partners to help all students achieve their potential in their classrooms, careers and communities.”

Prior to joining Civitas Learning, Eric served as Vice President of Professional Services at Greenway Health, which provides a clinician-facing technology and analytics platform that delivers insights to physicians and health care providers. Greenway Health’s solutions have reached more than 100 million patients in partnership with over 10,000 organizations and 75,000 health providers. In his work with Greenway Health, Grunden collaborated with hospitals, health systems and physician groups to improve health among at-risk populations and deliver powerful software and tools to the frontlines of medicine and patient care.

“Eric spent the past twenty years getting data and technology in the hands of the right people, at the right time to improve outcomes and opportunity across the world,” said Dr. Mark D. Milliron, co-founder and Chief Learning Officer at Civitas Learning. “His expertise in the delivery of integrated technology solutions is exceeded only by his commitment to serving and caring for customers. The application of data analytics to improve health and wellness has long been a powerful analogy for the transformation happening in higher education, so Eric’s experience is a powerful addition to our team.”

A Texas native, Grunden is a graduate of Texas Tech University in Lubbock and comes from a family of several educators, including his sister who teaches and his mother, who currently is an academic support specialist at Angelina College. In addition to his professional experience, Grunden dedicates his personal time to social impact and volunteer projects in the community. Partnering with physician clients and professional colleagues, Grunden helped to launch a free medical clinic serving low-income families in rural Alabama and Georgia not covered by Medicaid benefits. He also served as a board member for local chapters of the Boys and Girls Club and Habitat for Humanity.
