AUSTIN, TEX. (October 16, 2013) – Civitas Learning® today announced Civitas Learning Space, a digital community designed to engage education leaders as they explore key trends, issues, challenges and solutions in the use of analytics to improve student success. Content in the digital community will focus on four key topics: analytics, higher education, policy and technology. Contributors will share and help curate quality thought pieces, research, podcasts, vodcasts and interactive tools.

“We believe that by learning together we can gain deeper insights into students’ challenges and choices as they work their way through our higher education institutions, and the practice and policy that can help them learn well and finish strong,” said Dr. Mark David Milliron, chief learning officer and co-founder of Civitas Learning. “Civitas Learning Space embodies our commitment to asking and answering tough questions together.”

The initial launch includes a video interview with Civitas Learning’s chief data scientist, David Kil; Latino Student Success Initiatives updates from Lumina Foundation’s Tina Gridiron Smith; a look at predictive analytics in higher education from Dr. Paul von Hippel, LBJ School of Public Affairs, The University of Texas at Austin; and reflections on advising innovationswith Dr. Melissa Biegert from Austin Community College.
