Civitas Learning Inc., an Austin-based startup that guides college students at risk of dropping out by helping them choose courses and majors, has received $4.1 million in funding.
The software maker collaborates with higher education entities to analyze student data to help predict which students are at risk of dropping out, the Austin American-Statesman reports. Civitas then guides and advises the student on how best to go forward.
It collected the funding from Austin Ventures, First Round Capital and Floodgate.
The local tech startup was founded last year and employs 10 workers.
