A few of us wanted to take a moment to recognize what you accomplished, reflect on the future, and extend our heartfelt congratulations.
From our team to you, here are a few of our reflections and recommendations as you begin your next chapter….
To the dreamers, do-ers, and future leaders of this world: Keep going.
Don’t ever forget your purpose. Go achieve what’s yours.
Trust your own intuitions and instincts regarding the choices you’re making and the path you’re choosing. <span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”></span>
Listen to your gut and try and find joy in whatever you’re doing.
Make sure you’re checking in with yourself and asking “Am I on the right path?”
And if you’re not, make an adjustment. It’s OK to change course.
Make sure to create punctuation marks in your life. Take time and energy to invest in exclamation points to celebrate, like completing your degree!
Find a mentor. There are a lot of people who lived through the ’87 Market Crash, and the 2009 Crisis, and know what it was like to graduate, or have to find a job during those times.
You’d be surprised at how many people want to help you in your career.
Be bold. Always be true to yourself. Don’t forget to rotate your tires. Don’t drink too much. And most importantly , don’t ever forget:
It is possible to be both the hardest working and the nicest person in any room you’re in.
It can be hard to remember that life is not a race. It’s so important to embrace failure: Everybody fails. Some of your greatest accomplishments will come from your greatest failures.
So, try and take life at your speed, and enjoy the ride.
Each and every step you take moves you. Regardless of direction. Regardless of distance. You will always be in a different place than the moment before.
So, step with confidence. You take along with you your experiences and your learnings.
As you go through this life, you will stress again. You’ll stay up late nights,
for work or family. But, remember that you have done this before.
You’ve had these feelings and stress and you made it through. You persevered, and you will again.
As you navigate your next steps, and embark on your career, remember to pause and celebrate all the small and big milestones to come.
Trust me, that you are far more powerful than you know.
Our world needs you and all that you have to offer.
Even though you might not be celebrating the way that you dreamed and hoped, the world knows that you finished something really hard during an uncertain time.
And that’s incredibly special.
We’re been rooting for you since your first day in higher education, and we’re so proud of what you accomplished.
On behalf of all of us here at Civitas Learning, congrats to the graduating class of 2020!
