One of the things I enjoy most about the Catalytic Conversations podcast series is having the chance to catch up with major difference-makers in education. Here in episode 6, I’m sharing a conversation with one of the most prominent difference-makers: Dr. Vince Tinto. While he needs no introduction to anyone in higher education, I’d like to add a few observations about Vince. He serves on the Civitas Learning National Advisory Board with other luminaries including George Siemens, Davis Jenkins, Sally Johnstone and Lisa Petrides, to name a few. You can see the whole team of thought leaders here. Vince came to our April Partner Summit and it confirmed for all of us Vince’s rock star status. Cell phones came out of pockets and purses as our partners smiled and leaned in for stage shots and selfies with Vince. He joined a powerful keynote conversation that day as well. Though he says he is retired, he is still working tirelessly to support the movement to personalize education, ensure all student are learning, and make clearer the pathways to success. We’ll talk about all of that, and more in the podcast. Listen as we do a bit of myth busting about what the problems in higher education really are, and what needs to be done to fix them. Enjoy, and as always, thanks for your energy in this work, Vince!
